One Year Check Up

I had my one year check up at the doctor last Friday. I now weigh 20 pounds and 8 ounces, and I'm 32 inches long. I'm in the 50th percentile for my weight and the 90th percentile for my height and my head circumference.
The doctor said that I'm a really healthy girl!!! He said that my eye was all better now, so I won't have to have surgery. Mommy is really happy about that. The doctor was also really impressed with my vocabulary. I can say MaMa, DaDa, Duck, Dec (that's my big bro), Dog, Kitty Cat, Ball, Hi, Bye Bye, No, Pop (not as in soda, but as in the sound Pop! like Pop! goes the weasel or the sound in the Popcorn song by BNL), and Okay. I may be forgetting to include a word or two, but the doctor said that was quite a long list for such a young girl.
Mommy is very happy and feels very blessed that I am such a healthy little girl.
Now that I've had my doctor appointment, I don't have to drink formula anymore (I've transitioned to whole milk), and I get to sit in my big girl front facing car seat. Mommy promises she'll help me put pictures of me in the new car seat up soon!

My Birthday Party

Mommy wanted me to tell everybody that she's sorry she's been a slacker and hasn't let me post pictures of my birthday party yet. On the Sunday after my birthday, we had a fun swimming party at the Jones Center. I got to wear my cute polka-dot bikini and swim. It was so much fun, and Mommy was so proud of me, because I remembered how to kick and blow bubbles from my swimming lessons I took this summer.

After swimming, we went upstairs and ate cake and I got to open presents. I got some really cool toys and some super-cute clothes. I really like this birthday thing. It's a lot of fun!

Thank you to my Aunt JennMac for taking pictures of my party!!!

Birthdays Rock! (part 3)

Maybe the best part of birthdays is the cake! Before I got to eat it, everyone sang happy birthday to me. Grammy made me homemade cake, and it was super yummy!!! I tried to cram the whole thing into my mouth at one time, but that didn't work. It got pretty messy, but then I got a bath.

Wow! Grammy, presents, cake, and baths? Birthdays really are the best thing ever!

Birthdays Rock! (part 2)

Besides getting to spend super-fun time with my Grammy, birthdays are great because you get PRESENTS!!! Grammy got me this awesome pink rocking horse.

I'm really thankful that my Grammy got me such a cool, fun gift!

Birthdays Rock! (part 1)

Wow, if anyone had told me that birthdays were this cool, I would have wanted one a long time ago! I'm excited that I get to have one every year!!!

My birthday party isn't until Sunday, but my Grammy came over last night for a small party with me, Mommy and Dada. Doesn't she look pretty??? She's feeling much better than she was a month and a half ago. I'm glad that all my friends and family have been praying for her, so I got to spend this special time with her!!!

It's my 1st BIRTHDAY!!!!!

This morning when I woke up, Mommy and Dada both sang Happy Birthday to me. I'm so excited to be such a big girl. Mommy can't believe how much I've grown and changed in the past year. We're all looking forward to everything this next year of my life holds in store for us!
I wasn't too cooperative with Mommy this morning when she tried to get a picture of me in my cute outfit my Aunt Beverly got me for my birthday. It's hard to make out in this picture, but it's adorable navy overalls with little apples embroidered all over it, a matching onesie, and even matching socks!!! Maybe I'll let her get some better pictures tonight when Grammy comes over to bring me cake!

Spaghetti!

Last night, Mommy made spaghetti for dinner. It was so yummy! Mommy let me eat it all by myself. She figured I'd be pretty messy, so she put an old sheet down on the floor in case I threw any down onto the floor. I fooled her, though! I didn't get a drop on the floor, but I did get a lot on me!
At first, I did a great job of eating out of the bowl.

But then I dumped the rest into my lap.

It was okay, though. It still tastes good when I eat it off my tummy!

New Trick!

This is my newest trick. I don't know how to describe it in words, so you'll just have to watch for yourself. Mommy thinks it's funny. She laughs every time I do it. So I do it A LOT!!!

I love my dragon!

Earlier this year, Mommy bought me this cool dragon toy at a garage sale. It has balls that you put in holes, and depending on which hole you put it in, it plays a different tune and goes down a different path. It's one of my very favorite toys to play with.

Crackers are yummy!

When I get home from Ms Shirley's every day, Mommy gives me a snack. My favorite snack is crackers! I like any kind of crackers...Cheezits, Club crackers, or even plain old saltines. Here I am enjoying some saltine crackers.

First, I like to pick up more than one (three is best, because then I can have one for each hand and one for my mouth).

Then I like to study them.

Then I like to shove them in my mouth.

Yum, crackers!
